Changing my major from English and Philosophy to Pharmacy. Need insights!?
Help! I am going through a lot of academic and personal woes. I have been having anxiety attacks that results from thinking about the future. I am double majoring in English and Philosophy. I am going into my third year next academic year. While I love what I'm studying, I have been severely anxious about future career prospects. Initially, I did not listen to any of those naysayers that I should not major in something that seems so "trivial", "useless" and "bound to get a job working at Starbuck's", out of pride and out of the desire to prove to them that I have the integrity to pursue what I am pionate about. However, my family is not well-off, and for the past year, we have been having severe financial problems. On top of that, I have been depressed to a point that I don't see myself becoming a teacher or a professor, both of which rely heavily on consistent interaction with people. I am thinking of switching to Pharmacy, and become a pharmacist. Am I being practical?
