Was/Is evolution REALLY good?

ok, something I heard one day that I'd simply like to share. Mother Earth has been around a really long time. Longer than humans or anything else. This being said, she has survived many of what the atmosphere has thrown at her that debilitated many other planets. Great floods, many earthquakes and volcanoes, etc. We say that we're killing the planet, but perhaps Mother Earth needed the very things that we created here to stick around. Perhaps that is the only reason we're here. Mother Earth has been around a very long time and will be here even after we're not. Perhaps all this green talk is nothing but hog wash!
