Why does Socialism promise prosperity, equality, and security. But deliver only poverty, misery, and tyranny?

Socialism has never existed, so it cannot have failed. A Socialist society is one where the earth's resources belong to everyone, rather than to a tiny cl of millionaires and billionaires. Where goods are produced to satisfy human need, not to make a profit for shareholders. Obviously nothing to do with the particular variety of capitalism that exists in Europe.
